  • The vineyard was established in 1998 by Jean Rijckaert, after he parted from Verget, his negociant business set up in Macon with Jean-Marie Guffens.

Him being a great lover of the region and of the Savagnin grape, he acquired 5 ha in the Jura and was soon joined by a talented student: Florent Rouve who later became his managing director.

They bottle a special series of typical whites, for our pleasure, under the label Tessieux Rouve Terrier.
Florent produces organically and as naturally as possible. His beautiful, intense cuvees are obtained thanks to very low yields, careful manual harvest, usage of indigenous yeasts, long ageing in oak only and the least intervention possible to favor acidity and the true expression of grape and terroir.

In Rijckaerts own words our wines are under the sign of pleasure and delight, elegant, pure and have a refreshing and festive virtue ... A first glass should make you desire a second glass, the first bottle invites for opening a second one

Arbois & Buvilly, villages where the vineyards are located, are on the same parallel as Puligny Montrachet & Chassagne. Florent Rouves vineyard is located on rolling hills of limestone with an average altitude between 200 to 400 meters. It enjoys a semi-continental climate (temperatures variations can be unexpected). These conditions are perfect to build the elegant structure and the fine aromas of great white wines...
